At Straatman Koster advocaten, Thomas is primarily engaged in construction and procurement law. In particular, his work consists of drafting and assessing agreements, advising on construction law issues and conducting proceedings in both the civil courts and the Council of Arbitration. Thomas also advises and litigates on procurement law issues such as the preparation of the procurement procedure, the evaluation of tenders and the award decision.
Thomas graduated with a Master’s degree in Private Law from Erasmus University Rotterdam in 2022. He also
obtained a Master’s degree (with honours) in Construction Law at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. For his thesis on the
right to extension of the time limit under the Uniform Administrative Conditions for the Execution of Works 2012
(UAV 2012) in the case of an unfortunate coincidence of delay causes (het recht op termijnverlenging onder vigeur
van de UAV 2012 bij ‘onzuivere samenloop’ van vertragingsoorzaken), Thomas was awarded the thesis prize by the Netherlands Institute for Construction Law (IBR). Thomas joined Straatman Koster advocaten as a lawyer in
December 2024.
