Schipper
Sanne specializes in environmental law, with particular expertise in environmental law, water law, and mining law. She advises and represents government agencies and businesses in administrative law matters and disputes.
Sanne has been providing in-depth advice on the Environmental Act system since 2020. Her expertise includes, among other things, environmental plans, transitional law, and environmental planning activities outside the scope of plans. Within environmental law, she focuses in particular on the regulation of environmentally harmful activities at complex facilities, including IPPC installations and Seveso facilities.
In the field of water law, Sanne has extensive experience with complex water permits and abstraction permits. She advises on the role of water quality in the permitting process and the implications of the Water Framework Directive for groundwater and surface water. She also assists clients in proceedings centered on water quality and the objectives of the Water Framework Directive.
In addition, Sanne specializes in issues at the intersection of environmental law, mining, and renewable energy. She advises on matters such as ground source heat, geothermal energy, aquathermal energy, and manure fermentation. She also assists clients with permit applications, transitional law issues, and proceedings under laws such as the Environment Act and the Mining Act.
Sanne closely monitors new laws and regulations and regularly advises clients even before they take effect. She translates complex legal developments into practical strategies and conducts courses and informational sessions on topics such as the Environment Act, the Water Framework Directive, and the environmental law aspects of district heating.
Sanne studied International and European Law at the University of Groningen and has been a lawyer since 2015. From 2015 to 2026, she worked at AKD. In September 2026, she joined Straatman Koster Advocaten. In 2021, she completed the Grotius specialization program in Environmental Law with honors.
