Olivier

Vermeulen

Olivier specialises in construction law, project development, property transactions and commercial tenancy law. His clients include building contractors, developers, investors and public authorities.

Olivier has extensive experience in construction contracting (DBFMO, UAV-GC, UAV, DNR, SR, RVOI). He also regularly litigates construction disputes before the Council of Arbitration for the Construction Industry, the Dutch Arbitration Institute and the Civil Court. Olivier also advises widely on the conclusion of real estate transactions (buy/sell, rent/lease, sale and lease back) and on the development of real estate projects.

He studied Dutch law at Erasmus University Rotterdam. He was sworn in as a lawyer in 1997. Until 2007 he was a lawyer at Houthoff Buruma in Rotterdam and Amsterdam in the construction and real estate section. To gain experience outside the legal profession, he then worked as a corporate lawyer at a national real estate developer. After returning to the legal profession, Olivier was an attorney partner at the construction and real estate specialist firm Houtzager Strijker Advocaten in Zeist from 2010 to 2016. Since January 2017, Olivier has joined Straatman Koster advocaten as a partner. He regularly provides lectures and courses.
